- Successful Completion of the Regional Exchange Fam Tour for the "Omega-me Gyeongsang-do Three Mountains, Three Colors Trekking Challenge"

BUSAN — The Busan Tourism Organization (President Lee Jeong-sil, hereinafter referred to as the "BTO") announced on October 19 that it successfully held a joint tourism familiarization (fam) tour on Mount Geumjeong in Busan on October 17, bringing together 50 participants from Daegu as part of the "Omega-me Gyeongsang-do Three Mountains, Three Colors Trekking Challenge."

This event was organized as part of the inter-regional tourism exchange program for the "Omega-me Gyeongsang-do Three Mountains, Three Colors Trekking Challenge," which is jointly promoted by the BTO, the Daegu Culture and Arts Foundation, and the Korea National Park Service Eastern Regional Headquarters.

The "Omega-me Gyeongsang-do Three Mountains, Three Colors Trekking Challenge" is a collaborative tourism project launched to promote mountain tourism resources in the Yeongnam region and expand tourist exchanges between regions by connecting major trekking courses at Mount Geumjeong in Busan, Mount Palgong in Daegu, and Gyeongju National Park, following the official designation of Mount Geumjeong as a national park.

The Mount Geumjeong fam tour held on October 17 marks the second regional exchange program, following an initial exchange on September 19 where participants from Busan visited Mount Palgong in Daegu. In the previous event, Busan participants experienced Mount Palgong's representative trekking trails and Daegu's tourism resources. For this second leg, Daegu participants traveled to Busan to experience the autumn scenery of Mount Geumjeong along with Busan’s natural and trekking tourism content firsthand.

Participants enjoyed autumn hiking by walking along Mount Geumjeong’s signature trekking courses while experiencing the natural, cultural, and tourism resources surrounding the mountain. The event holds special significance as participants from both regions directly visited each other's signature trekking destinations, facilitating practical tourism exchanges between Busan and Daegu.

Through this fam tour, the BTO plans to promote the natural and ecological value and tourism appeal of Mount Geumjeong to participants from Daegu. Moving forward, the organization aims to develop tourism content linked with nearby cultural tourism resources and local commercial districts to extend visitor stays and boost local tourism consumption. Furthermore, building on this exchange with Daegu, the BTO plans to continuously expand tourist exchanges across the Yeongnam region through joint content combining the tourism resources of each city.

An official from the Busan Tourism Organization stated, "Following the visit of Busan participants to Mount Palgong in September, Daegu participants visiting Mount Geumjeong has further broadened tourism exchanges between the two regions. We will use this project as an opportunity to widely promote Mount Geumjeong's exceptional natural scenery and tourism appeal, and develop it into a representative tourism content for the Yeongnam region through inter-regional cooperation."
