SEOUL, South Korea – Starbucks Korea is set to ignite excitement this Valentine's season with its "Love Daze" online promotion, featuring the highly coveted Stanley pink tumbler that caused a frenzy in the United States last year.

From March 4th to 16th, Starbucks Korea will exclusively offer the "SS Stanley Love Quencher 1183ml Tumbler" through its online channels. This eye-catching, large-capacity tumbler in a vibrant pink hue took the U.S. market by storm when it was launched in collaboration with Stanley and Target.

Viral Sensation in the U.S.

The tumbler's popularity reached fever pitch in January of the previous year, with reports of massive crowds and overnight camping outside Target stores. News outlets like the New York Times covered the phenomenon, highlighting the intense demand for the limited-edition item.

Originally priced at $49.95 (approximately 73,000 KRW), the tumbler quickly sold out, fueled by its endorsement by influencers and a viral video showcasing its durability in a fire. The overwhelming demand led to chaotic scenes in some stores, with reports of physical altercations and theft.

Resale Frenzy and High Demand

Despite its popularity, Starbucks announced there would be no restocks, leading to a surge in resale prices. Some sellers listed the tumbler on eBay for as high as $550 (approximately 804,000 KRW), with some transactions reaching $299.99 (approximately 437,000 KRW).

Korean Market Anticipation

"We anticipate significant interest in the 'Love Quencher' tumbler, which was a huge hit overseas, as well as the exclusive keychains available only in Korea," said Baek Ji-woong, Starbucks Korea's planning manager.

Additional Valentine's Day Offerings

In addition to the tumbler, Starbucks Korea is also launching two keychains that allow customers to personalize their tumblers, tapping into the "Tumbler Customization" trend. The promotion will also feature a range of Valentine's Day treats, including Basque Chocolate Cheese Cake, Thank You Berry Ice Cream Cake, Berry Finger Chocolate Set, and Chocolate Cookie Tin Set.
