Gangwon Tourism Organization operates barefoot walking and experiential programs at Sokcho Beach, aiming to revitalize stay-type tourism by connecting local attractions

Gangwon State, Sokcho City, and the Gangwon Tourism Organization (hereinafter referred to as the Organization) announced that they will host the "2026 Barefoot Walking, Sokcho" event at Sokcho Beach on November 7 (Saturday).

This event is part of Sokcho City's ongoing efforts to expand barefoot walking attractions utilizing the local natural environment, starting with the creation of the Yeongrangho Red Clay Path and extending to Cheongchoho Lake. It is designed to provide opportunities for health promotion and mental healing through barefoot walking in Sokcho's beautiful marine natural environment, while revitalizing wellness tourism by linking walking spots with tourism resources.

During the event, various health and healing programs will be operated against the backdrop of the blue sea and the sound of waves at Sokcho Beach. In addition, coastal busking performances and interactive events such as barefoot limbo and barefoot balancing will be prepared so that participants can enjoy the barefoot walking experience and recharge their bodies and minds in nature.

In particular, this event is linked with the "Meet Sokcho Through Your Toes: Barefoot Walking Certification Challenge," which has garnered a massive response with about 6,000 participants in just six months of operation. Participants can easily participate in stamp verification across three courses using the walking verification app "Cashwalk": ▲ Sokcho Beach, ▲ Yeongrangho Barefoot Red Clay Path, and ▲ Cheaksan Hot Springs Recreation Village Barefoot Walking Path. Through this, event participation will naturally lead to visits to Sokcho's various barefoot walking spots, allowing visitors to experience both the joy of walking and the fun of tourism.

Yoon Tae-hwan, Head of Division at the Gangwon Tourism Organization, stated, "We have prepared this event so that visitors can directly feel Sokcho's beautiful nature barefoot and enjoy a new tourism experience through walking and certification." He added, "We will continue to discover differentiated wellness contents combining the region's natural environment and tourism resources to increase tourist influx and length of stay, thereby contributing to the vitalization of the local economy."

Meanwhile, the "Barefoot Walking Certification Challenge" runs until November 30, and detailed information including participation methods and certification courses can be found on the "Cashwalk" app.
