On the 6th, Chungnam Province, together with Seosan City, conducted the "Serious Citizen Disaster Prevention and Safety Inspection Day Campaign" around the Seosan Chrysanthemum Festival site.
Targeting festival visitors, the province raised awareness about the importance of preventing serious citizen disasters and conducting safety inspections in daily life, thereby promoting a safety culture.
This campaign was carried out by linking the November Safety Inspection Day event with the second-half serious citizen disaster prevention promotional activities, aiming to highlight the importance of preventing serious citizen disasters and safety checks in daily life while spreading a safety culture.
Around 50 participants, including officials from the province and Seosan City, as well as related organizations and groups, took part in the campaign.
Participants distributed promotional booklets containing key details of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act and the obligations of management entities for preventing serious citizen disasters to festival visitors, emphasizing the importance of prevention.
In addition, they handed out "National Action Guidelines for Local Festival Sites" booklets and visitor self-safety checklist forms to prevent safety accidents at crowded festivals and events, and delivered safety promotional items such as fire-preventing outlet fire suppression patches, encouraging the practice of everyday safety checks.
"Safety truly becomes effective only when it leads to practice in daily life," said Shin Dong-heon, Head of the Provincial Disaster and Safety Management Office. "Going forward, we will continue to promote various safety culture campaigns so that residents can experience the importance of safety in their daily lives and practice autonomous safety inspections."
Meanwhile, the province has been raising residents' safety awareness and spreading a safety culture in daily life through monthly Safety Inspection Day events.
As a result of these efforts, the province has been selected as an outstanding organization in the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's "2026 Safety Inspection Day Performance Evaluation" and is scheduled to receive a commendation from the Minister of the Interior and Safety.
