Porsche Expands its Presence in South Korea with New Service Center and Ambitious Plans

Seoul, South Korea – Porsche, the renowned German sports car manufacturer, has reinforced its commitment to the South Korean market by inaugurating its second-largest service center globally in Seoul's Seongsu district. The grand opening of the 'Porsche Service Center Seongsu' was marked by a media workshop on February 12th, where Porsche Korea unveiled its business direction and key management plans for 2025.

Spanning an impressive 15,968 square meters from basement level 1 to the 11th floor, the state-of-the-art service center boasts 40 work bays, enabling it to service over 90 vehicles daily. In anticipation of the growing electric vehicle market, the facility is equipped with specialized technicians and high-voltage technology expertise. It also features 31 charging stations, including four 320kW ultra-fast chargers, and a dedicated space with a cutting-edge fire suppression system for EVs.

Beyond its technical capabilities, the service center offers a range of amenities designed to enhance the customer experience, including private consultation areas, a VIP lounge, a screen golf zone, and a cafeteria. These additions reflect Porsche's focus on integrating the brand into customers' lifestyles and fostering stronger relationships.

Matthias Buse, CEO of Porsche Korea, emphasized the significance of the new service center, stating, "Seongsu Service Center is the second largest in the world, even larger than those in other regions like China. This demonstrates Porsche's commitment to meeting the diverse needs of customers in the dynamic Korean market."

Since its establishment in 2014, Porsche Korea has witnessed consistent growth, achieving record sales of 11,355 units in 2023. However, the company experienced a slight dip in sales last year, with 8,284 units sold. To regain momentum, Porsche Korea plans to expand its network and enhance after-sales services, starting with the Seongsu Service Center, followed by Porsche Studio Hannam and Porsche Service Center Jeju. The company aims to double its number of service centers from the current 15 by 2030.

In addition to expanding its infrastructure, Porsche Korea announced its new vehicle strategy for the year. CEO Buse revealed plans to offer a diverse portfolio of powertrains, including efficient internal combustion engines, plug-in hybrids, and innovative all-electric vehicles. He also teased the upcoming launch of several new models in the first half of the year, including the Panamera GTS, Taycan GTS, Taycan Turbo GT, and various iterations of the 911.

With these strategic initiatives, Porsche Korea aims to solidify its position in the competitive South Korean automotive market and further strengthen its bond with its discerning clientele.
