SEOUL – The Korea Sports Promotion Foundation (KSPO), led by Chairman Ha Hyung-joo, has officially unveiled its "KSPO AI Transformation (AX) Strategy." This ambitious roadmap, titled "Accelerating the Realization of a K-Sports Hub for All with AI," aligns with the South Korean government’s broader digital initiative to integrate artificial intelligence across public sectors.

A Data-Driven Leap in Sports Welfare
After four months of intensive internal reviews, stakeholder interviews, and public idea contests, KSPO has identified 45 actionable tasks across five strategic pillars, including sports welfare, the sports industry, and financial management.

At the heart of this transformation is a commitment to "User-Centric AI Services." KSPO plans to synthesize the vast amounts of data collected through the "National Fitness 100" program with advanced AI algorithms. This synergy will provide South Korean citizens with hyper-personalized exercise prescriptions. Furthermore, the foundation aims to revolutionize athletic performance through "AI Coaching," which analyzes match footage and training logs to optimize elite athletes' skills and invigorate grassroots sports participation.

Governance and Ethics: Building a Trusted AI
To ensure a swift and responsible transition, KSPO has appointed a Chief AI Officer (CAIO) and launched an AI Innovation Committee. Recognizing the ethical implications of automation, the foundation has established a set of "AI Ethical Principles" focusing on public interest, safety, and transparency.

"This AX strategy is more than a simple technological upgrade; it is a fundamental shift to innovate all sports administrative services to meet the public's expectations," said Chairman Ha Hyung-joo. "We are dedicated to becoming a transparent and efficient K-Sports hub where AI technology allows citizens to enjoy sports more conveniently and safely."

Cultivating 'AI Champions': The Human Element
KSPO’s strategy emphasizes that the success of AI depends on the people behind it. The foundation is launching a comprehensive AI literacy program for its entire workforce. Employees will undergo competency assessments and receive tailored training across four stages—from "Sprout" to "Master."

A key highlight of the talent development plan is the cultivation of 50 "AI Champions"—in-house experts who will lead the digital charge. To encourage voluntary growth, KSPO has promised significant rewards for high performers, fostering a culture of innovation.

Shaping a New Organizational Culture
The foundation is also implementing structural changes to embed AI into its daily operations. With the goal of "One AI per Person," KSPO will integrate AI literacy and usage performance into official organizational evaluations. This move is designed to ensure that the transition to an AI-driven environment is not just a slogan, but a lived reality that improves the efficiency of sports administration nationwide.

As KSPO moves toward becoming a top-tier data management institution, this AX initiative marks a significant milestone in South Korea's journey to lead the global sports technology market.
