[GLOBAL ECONOMIC TIMES] Hyundai Motor Company's hydrogen electric vehicle Nexo achieved a record of driving 1,100.9 km on a single charge, further proving its hydrogen electric vehicle technology. This is a valuable result achieved through the 'Nexo One-Charge Maximum Driving Distance Record Challenge Club Event' in which members of the Nexo Cafe Club participated.
The existing Nexo's driving range on a single charge was 609 km, but through this challenge, it set a new record by increasing the driving distance by more than 400 km. In particular, it is attracting more attention as an achievement that significantly surpasses the existing longest driving record of 887.5km set by the Australian subsidiary in 2021.
This challenge was held for two days from the 21st to the 22nd, and started at the Gwacheon Hydrogen Charging Station, went through Daejeon, Gwangju, and Gunsan, and finished at the Yangjae Hydrogen Charging Station. In particular, it was successfully completed thanks to the passionate participation of Nexo owners despite various adverse conditions such as rain, low temperatures, and road congestion.
Achieving this record would not have been possible without the active participation of the Nexo Cafe Club, which is comprised of Nexo owners. Nexo Cafe is the largest Nexo community in Korea with 35,000 members, and is a space where Nexo owners share information and share their passion for hydrogen electric vehicles.
A Hyundai Motor Company official said, “Achieving this record is a result of proving the Nexo’s excellent fuel efficiency and durability,” and added, “We will showcase more advanced hydrogen electric vehicle technology through the Nexo successor model scheduled to be released next year.”
The Nexo is recognized for its value as an eco-friendly car as it emits only clean oxygen and water without exhaust gases. Achieving this record is expected to demonstrate the potential of hydrogen electric vehicles and become a new catalyst for the growth of the hydrogen vehicle market.
