Seoul, South Korea – Homeplus, one of South Korea’s leading retail chains, has announced a partnership with Baemin, the nation’s most popular food delivery app, to expand its online grocery delivery services.
Starting [date], customers can now order a wide range of products from Homeplus stores through Baemin's 'Mart Direct' service. This expansion will cover 108 out of the 127 Homeplus stores nationwide, offering same-day delivery and flexible scheduling options.
The partnership marks a significant milestone in the South Korean e-commerce landscape, as it further consolidates Baemin's position as a major player in the grocery delivery market. With the addition of Homeplus, Baemin has successfully onboarded major retailers such as E-mart, GS The Fresh, and Homeplus Express to its platform, expanding its reach across various retail formats, including large supermarkets, convenience stores, and now, hypermarkets.
Homeplus is expecting a synergistic effect between its existing 'Instant Delivery' service on Baemin and the newly launched 'Mart Direct' service, providing customers with a more convenient online grocery shopping experience. The company has seen a substantial increase in sales from its 'Instant Delivery' service, with monthly revenue growing up to 80% year-on-year.
A distinctive feature of Homeplus' 'Mart Direct' service is its use of four-wheeled vehicles for deliveries, enabling the transportation of bulky items such as refrigerators and washing machines. The product range has also been expanded to include a wider variety of non-food items, including sports equipment, toys, electronics, and apparel.
To celebrate the launch of 'Mart Direct' on Baemin, Homeplus is offering a 5% discount (up to 4,000 won) for purchases over 60,000 won. Customers who pay with participating credit cards will receive an additional 1,000 won discount.
