[GLOBAL ECONOMIC TIMES] North Chungcheong Province announced on the 21st that it will introduce the 'K-Guardian' system to help foreign students successfully settle in the region. This is a program that connects foreign students attending universities in the Chungbuk region with local residents as guardians to help them adapt to life, study, and culture.
This system, which is being implemented starting with Chungbuk Provincial University, involves local residents from various fields, including Okcheon County Council, police, and fire departments, participating as guardians. Guardians will support a variety of activities with assigned international students, such as sharing information on local life, providing career counseling, and participating in local events together.
Through this system, North Chungcheong Province aims to support foreign students to establish themselves as members of the local community rather than simply studying, and to increase regional vitality by activating exchanges with the local community. In addition, we are actively seeking to attract international students to solve the problem of population decline, and aim to attract 10,000 international students by next year.
