Bucheon Art Center (CEO Park Eun-hye) announced on Wednesday, November 4, that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Sogang University’s Graduate School of Metaverse (BVI Lab) for a research project aimed at diagnosing cultural promotion strategies and identifying growth tasks for the center.
This agreement was arranged to examine the current operational status and management performance of Bucheon Art Center based on the expertise and experience of both institutions, while collaboratively exploring future directions and new growth potentials. In particular, it is significant in that it connects the university's research capabilities with the practical experience of the performing arts field to discover practical directions for development that can aid institutional operations.
The signing ceremony took place at Sogang University’s St. Gabriel’s Hall, attended by key representatives from both institutions, including Bucheon Art Center CEO Park Eun-hye, Sogang University Graduate School of Metaverse Dean Hyun Dai-won, and Chair Professor Lee Seok-keun, who shared their commitment to cooperation.
In his welcoming remarks, Dean Hyun Dai-won stated, "I hope this agreement will serve as an opportunity for research cooperation with Bucheon Art Center, as well as the creation of new collaborative projects across various fields. We will continue to share the expertise and capabilities of both institutions and broaden the scope of our continuous exchange and cooperation."
Chair Professor Lee Seok-keun, who oversees the research, stated, "Based on this MOU, once the project officially commences through appropriate procedures between the two institutions, we plan to examine Bucheon Art Center's operational status from various perspectives—including interviews with practitioners—and conduct multi-faceted research and analysis. By fully reflecting the voices of the field, we will derive accurate and substantive research results that are practically helpful for institutional operations and applicable in the field."
In response, Bucheon Art Center CEO Park Eun-hye remarked, "I hope this agreement becomes a great opportunity for both institutions to share expertise and experience and grow together. We will actively cooperate to ensure that the research proceeds smoothly and substantially, and together create meaningful outcomes that benefit both sides."
Under this agreement, the two institutions will cooperate in various fields, including:
▲ Diagnosing and analyzing Bucheon Art Center's operational status and management performance
▲ Discovering improvement tasks for institutional operational efficiency and development
▲ Exploring sustainable growth directions for the performing arts through industry-academia cooperation
▲ Sharing research results and conducting training for executives and staff members
In particular, this research is highly significant as it examines Bucheon Art Center's operations from a fresh perspective through the objective viewpoints and academic research capabilities of external experts, while jointly contemplating the developmental directions needed in the performing arts field.
Meanwhile, taking advantage of this industry-academia collaboration, Bucheon Art Center plans to expand exchange and cooperation with Sogang University’s Graduate School of Metaverse, and actively utilize the research results in its institutional operations and cultural promotion projects to provide citizens with even higher-level culture and arts services.
