On the afternoon of July 2nd, a 'Traditional Wedding Ceremony for Multicultural Families' was successfully held at Banwoljeong Hanok Wedding Hall within Daegu's Daebong-dong Wedding Street. Hosted by the 'Wedding Street Merchants' Association (Chairman Kim Ju-hyung)', this event provided a beautiful traditional wedding opportunity for a multicultural couple who had not previously been able to hold a wedding ceremony, showcasing the warm interest and support of the local community.
The Daebong-dong Wedding Street Merchants' Association directly supported all aspects of the wedding, including makeup and wedding photography, for this traditional wedding ceremony, demonstrating the voluntary participation and spirit of service from local merchants. This initiative is highly regarded as a meaningful attempt to not only support a wedding but also to provide an experience of Korean traditional culture and help multicultural families establish deeper roots in the local community.
Ryu Gyu-ha, Jung-gu District Head, attended the event and stated, "We actively support multicultural families in overcoming cultural differences and establishing true marital bonds in our society." He also expressed deep gratitude to the Wedding Street Merchants' Association for organizing such a meaningful event. Jung-gu District Office is also implementing various support policies to help multicultural families serve as stable members of society and improve their quality of life.
This traditional wedding ceremony served as an opportunity to preserve and pass on Korea's beautiful traditional culture while also enhancing the sense of belonging and pride among multicultural family members in Korean society. It provided unforgettable memories for the immigrant couple and became a significant event that reaffirmed the value of multicultural inclusion in the local community. The continuous efforts of the Wedding Street Merchants' Association and the solidarity of the local community are expected to be a great source of strength for multicultural families to form healthy families and lead happy lives.
