BNK Busan Bank is set to host a heartwarming "I LOVE Festival" on May 17th at its main branch in Munhyeon-dong, offering a diverse array of engaging activities for families to enjoy together in honor of Family Month.
The festival's comprehensive program features the 4th BNK Busan Bank Children's Art Competition, the Play on Busan cultural performance showcasing the popular "Gag Concert" team, the 22nd Book Exchange Fair, and the Children's Market Town, alongside a variety of interactive experiences tailored for children and their families.
The Children's Art Competition is designed to cultivate an appreciation for local culture among young participants. Divided into lower (grades 1-3) and upper (grades 4-6) elementary school categories, the competition will center around three thought-provoking themes: Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Environment, and the Gadeokdo New Airport. A total of 300 awards will be bestowed, with the grand prize winners in each division and the recipients of the esteemed Dongbaek Art Award receiving commendations from the Busan Metropolitan City Superintendent of Education and the Busan Metropolitan City Mayor, respectively.
Enhancing the festive atmosphere, the Play on Busan cultural performance will feature well-known comedians from KBS's "Gag Concert," including beloved segments such as "Hwanghae," "Communication King Malja Grandma," "Geumjjok Kindergarten," and the captivating "Magic & Kim Jae-rong" show, guaranteeing laughter and entertainment for attendees of all ages.
Continuing its long-standing commitment to promoting literacy, the 22nd Book Exchange Fair will offer approximately 1,000 high-quality books, including the designated "One Book One Busan Book of the Year 2025" selection. Participants are invited to exchange their previously read books for new discoveries, with the opportunity to swap three of their books for one new title, up to a maximum of ten books per individual. The Children's Market Town provides a unique platform for families with children to actively engage in resource circulation and the practice of sustainable sharing by offering reusable household items like clothing, bags, and everyday necessities for sale.
In addition to these key events, numerous organizations will host interactive experience booths. ChildFund Korea will present an upcycling keyring making activity, while the Community Chest of Busan, Save the Children, the Busan Volunteer Center, Médecins Sans Frontières, the Busan Fire Department, and the Busan Nambu Police Station will also offer a wide range of engaging and educational programs.
Online registration for the "I LOVE Festival" will commence at 5:00 PM on the event's official website. Families wishing to participate in the Children's Art Competition, the Play on Busan cultural performance, and the Children's Market Town are encouraged to register and apply in advance as participation is limited on a first-come, first-served basis.
Bang Seong-bin, the President and CEO of Busan Bank, expressed his hopes for the event, stating, "We aspire for this Family Month festival to be a meaningful occasion where children can experience joy, nurture their creativity, and appreciate the importance of family bonds. BNK Busan Bank remains committed to collaborating with the local community to foster a supportive environment for raising children."
Furthermore, the proceeds generated from the Children's Market Town and donations collected through participating organizations will be contributed to ChildFund Korea to provide assistance to underprivileged families with newborn children, underscoring the festival's spirit of community engagement and charitable giving.
