Cheonan City has officially kicked off the construction of the "Football History Museum," a facility designed to capture the comprehensive history of South Korean football at a glance.

On the 23rd, the city held the "Football History Museum Architectural Design Service Kickoff Meeting and Construction Advisory Committee" in the middle conference room of City Hall.

The meeting was attended by Cheonan Mayor Jang Ki-soo, members of the construction advisory committee, and representatives from the service organization. During the session, the overall design—including building placement and traffic flow planning—along with future implementation schedules were shared, and various insights were provided by the advisory committee members.

The Football History Museum is a specialized facility dedicated to systematically preserving and researching 140 years of South Korean football history. Built with a scale of one basement level and two above-ground floors, it will serve as a multi-cultural space equipped with permanent and special exhibition halls, a children's hands-on exhibition room, storage facilities, and educational rooms.

Aimed for a 2029 opening, the city plans to finalize the architectural design by July next year and commence construction thereafter. Once built, the museum is expected to further elevate the symbolic significance of the Korea Football Park, positioning it as a new regional landmark.

Cheonan Mayor Jang Ki-soo stated, "There is immense interest from the football community and citizens regarding the establishment of the Football History Museum. We will faithfully incorporate the opinions of experts and citizens to complete a cultural hub that creates strong synergy with the Korea Football Park."
