DMCI Mining Corp. is nearing its 3 million wet metric ton (WMT) production target for 2026, driven by rapid shipments from its Palawan and Zambales operations.

DMCI Mining President and Chief Operating Officer Tulsi Das Reyes said in a briefing that the group's output is close to the goal, staying on track to achieve the 3 million target this year. Palawan operations shipped out 1 million tons in three months, while Zambales already reached 1.6 million tons, fueling an overall upward trend in performance.

According to local reports, DMCI Mining operates two mines in Santa Cruz, Zambales, through subsidiaries Zambales Diversified Metals Corp. (ZDMC) and Zambales Chromite Mining Co. (ZCMC). Furthermore, mining subsidiary Berong Nickel Corp. (BNC) signed a mineral production sharing agreement (MPSA) with the Mines and Geosciences Bureau for its Long Point mine in Aborlan, Palawan last year. The MPSA covers about 2,177 hectares and grants exclusive rights to explore, develop, and utilize mineral resources within the area for an initial 25 years.

Production faced mixed weather conditions this year. Zambales experienced heavy rains leading to a seasonal suspension, with operations set to resume in the fourth quarter. Meanwhile, favorable weather in Palawan allowed BNC to push through with steady shipments. Although high tides in Palawan will prompt a natural stop toward the end of the year, a few remaining shipments will secure the 3 million target. The company plans to continuously explore the Long Point assets and surrounding areas for future expansion.
