Crimson Desert, the highly anticipated open-world action-adventure title from Korean developer Pearl Abyss, has achieved a historic milestone by surpassing 2 million units sold globally within its first 24 hours of release.
On March 20, at 11:00 PM (KST), Pearl Abyss announced the news via its official social media channels. "We are thrilled to share that Crimson Desert has sold over 2 million copies worldwide," the company stated. "We extend our deepest gratitude to our fans, the community, and everyone who has joined us on the journey to Pywel."
The game’s explosive debut was also reflected on Steam, the world’s largest PC gaming platform, where it reached a peak concurrent user count of approximately 240,000 on its launch day.
This achievement marks a significant moment for the South Korean gaming industry, as Crimson Desert becomes the first Korean-developed title to reach the 2-million-seller mark on its very first day.
Pearl Abyss emphasized its commitment to long-term service, adding, "We are closely listening to the diverse feedback shared by our community. We will do our best to implement rapid improvements and ensure that the journey ahead is even more enjoyable for our players."
