Participatory Programs Like Stretching, Table Tennis Experience, and Quiz Events Receive Enthusiastic Response
Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province successfully spread the enthusiasm for hosting the Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games in Jeonju at a marathon event gathering runners from all across the country.
On the 18th, Jeonbuk State operated a promotional booth for the Summer Olympics and Paralympic bid at the "R1 2026 Jeonju Marathon" held in Jeonju, conducting promotional activities alongside Jeonju Olympics Goodwill Ambassador Kim A-lang.
The event was organized by "Sean with Him" and BKIND, and sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Korea Tourism Organization, and Jeonju City, bringing runners from nationwide to Jeonju.
This promotional campaign was designed to share the vision and values of hosting the Summer Olympics and Paralympic Games with participants visiting Jeonju through sports, thereby fostering nationwide interest and a supportive atmosphere.
Notably, former short track national team skater and Jeonju native Kim A-lang, who serves as the Olympics Goodwill Ambassador, directly communicated with participants to boost the promotional drive.
Goodwill Ambassador Kim led cool-down stretches for runners who completed the race, aiding in their recovery. She then heightened the on-site atmosphere by hosting a lucky draw and a Jeonju Summer Olympics bid quiz event.
The Summer Olympics and Paralympic promotional booth operated by Jeonbuk State also drew a steady stream of participants. The province ran a participatory event utilizing table tennis—an Olympic sport—and hosted a commemorative photo session with the goodwill ambassador at the booth's photo zone, garnering significant interest and positive responses from attendees.
Kim Jong-pil, Director of the 2036 Summer Olympics Bid Task Force at Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province, stated, "It was deeply meaningful to promote the dream of hosting the Jeonju Summer Olympics and Paralympics alongside Goodwill Ambassador Kim A-lang at a sports venue where runners from all over the country gathered." He added, "We will continue to spread interest and enthusiastic support for the Olympic bid nationwide through field-centered promotional activities that citizens can directly participate in and enjoy."
