As the cost of dining out continues to soar, E-mart is stepping in to ease the burden on consumers' wallets. The retail giant announced on the 26th the launch of its "Reversal Price 3980 Double-Roll Kimbap," offering two full rolls of kimbap for just 3,980 won.
This price point is particularly striking as it matches the current market price for a single roll. According to the Korea Consumer Agency's "True Price" data, the average price of one kimbap roll in Seoul was recorded at approximately 3,800 won this past February.
The new product features two distinct flavors:
Spicy Fish Cake Kimbap: This roll is packed with sweet and spicy stir-fried fish cakes, making up about 18% of the total weight, complemented by pickled radish and shredded carrots.
Original Kimbap: A classic take featuring traditional ingredients such as smoked ham, egg garnish, seasoned spinach, and braised burdock root.
By bundling these two varieties together, E-mart allows customers to enjoy both a kick of spice and a savory traditional taste in one meal.
"We designed this product to go beyond the limits of ultra-low-priced goods by offering two different flavors simultaneously," said Lee Seul, a buyer at E-mart's Kitchen Deli. "We will continue to expand our 'half-price' lineup to lower the price burden while increasing customer satisfaction."
