The comprehensive Korean culture experience event "Korea Square 2026," held in Hong Kong, attracted over 26,000 visitors across two days, demonstrating the high local interest in Korean culture.
The Korean Cultural Center in Hong Kong hosted "Korea Square 2026" at the PMQ courtyard and QUBE performance venue from October 31 to November 1. Marking its 6th anniversary this year, the event saw approximately 26,000 attendees, a nearly threefold increase from last year’s 9,000 visitors.
The event featured around 50 participants, including domestic companies such as Samsung, LG, and Com2uS, local Hong Kong brands and creators, as well as public organizations like the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO), Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (aT), and Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA). They showcased products and experiential programs across various sectors, including K-food, traditional liquor, K-beauty, mobile games, design goods, hanbok, and traditional crafts.
In particular, "Coffee Takeover Hong Kong," featured for the first time this year, introduced Korean coffee culture with 13 Korean specialty coffee brands and barista teams. The Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation, together with the Korea Grape Export Association, promoted domestic grapes and pursued the development of new grape-based menu items in collaboration with local cafes and bakeries.
A variety of citizen-engagement programs also took place. These included a masterclass by violinist Danny Koo, a screening of the movie "Exhuma," a K-pop singing contest, a random play dance, Kimchi-making, K-beauty demonstrations, and a K-Quiz Golden Bell.
Choi Jae-won, Director of the Korean Cultural Center in Hong Kong, stated, "Through this event, we confirmed the strength of Korean culture deeply rooted in daily life in Hong Kong. We will continue to expand our role as a platform where domestic and international companies and creators can collaborate and generate business through Korea."
