SEOUL, South Korea – In a significant leap for South Korea’s artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem, MyMeta, an emerging AI-based digital twin and consulting startup, has secured a strategic foothold for expansion into the U.S. market. The company recently received an official invitation to the prestigious SelectUSA Seattle Spinoff, a move expected to draw intense interest from South Korea’s Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS).
A Proven Technical Edge
The momentum began in mid-February 2026, when MyMeta emerged as one of the six final winners of the "Open Data X AI Challenge." This rigorous, demonstration-oriented project hosted by the MSS saw fierce competition among 124 AI startups nationwide. MyMeta was lauded for its exceptional technical prowess and the commercial viability of its public data-based AI consulting platform designed specifically for small business owners.
By passing this final hurdle, MyMeta has officially validated its ability to solve real-world problems using public data. As a result, the startup is now eligible for a comprehensive support package from the MSS, including:
-Commercialization support focused on R&D and expert recruitment.
-Financial assistance through policy loans and credit guarantees.
-Case study status for future government AI-promotion policies.
The Road to Seattle
The global stage beckoned shortly after the domestic victory. On March 10, Jin Dong-hwan, CEO of MyMeta, received an official invitation from Greater Seattle Partners (GSP). The invitation facilitates MyMeta's participation in the "SelectUSA Seattle Spinoff," a specialized program designed to introduce high-growth foreign tech firms to the Washington State industrial ecosystem.
"We established contact with GSP through the U.S. Department of Commerce’s 'SelectUSA Network,'" Jin explained. "This invitation opens doors to direct meetings with global corporations, investment institutions, and site visits that are crucial for a successful U.S. market entry."
Innovation: Beyond Simple Chatbots
At the heart of MyMeta’s success is its "AI Consulting System." Unlike traditional information-retrieval chatbots, MyMeta’s platform is an "Actionable AI" solution. It integrates diverse services such as:
-Commercial district analysis and real-time market data.
-Customized recommendations for government support programs.
-Legal information and operational strategy optimization.
The platform’s architecture is particularly noteworthy. It utilizes a LangGraph-based AI structure to automatically analyze user intent and categorize inquiries into specialized expert domains. Furthermore, it employs Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), combining public data with real-time statistics to ensure high reliability and minimize "hallucinations."
To bridge the digital divide, MyMeta also implemented voice-and-text consulting features, ensuring that small business owners who may be less tech-savvy can still navigate complex business decisions with ease.
Global Vision and Local Impact
The MSS’s focus on this project was to find "living" solutions where AI technology meets the actual needs of small businesses and SMEs. MyMeta's digital twin solution fits this mandate perfectly by providing a virtualized environment for business testing and risk management.
"Through the GSP program, we aim to verify the feasibility of our AI digital twin and consulting platforms in the U.S. market while seeking global partnerships," said CEO Jin Dong-hwan. "Our goal is to turn AI from a mere 'technology' into a 'on-site partner.' By combining public data with AI, we can deliver support policies more accurately and faster, ultimately enhancing the fundamental competitiveness of small businesses both at home and abroad."
As MyMeta prepares for its journey to the Pacific Northwest, the industry is watching closely. Success in Seattle could serve as a blueprint for how South Korean AI startups can leverage domestic government validation to achieve global scale.
