It has quietly come to light that actress Shin Min-a has consistently donated billions of won over the past 15 years. Praise is pouring in, especially as it was revealed that she had asked for her good deeds not to be publicized.
On the 1st, a post titled "3.7 Billion Won Quietly Withdrawn from Shin Min-a's Account for 15 Years" spread rapidly across online communities and social media networks (SNS).
The post featured a story from a "foundation official" who witnessed Shin Min-a’s donations.
The official stated, "At first, I thought it was a misdeposit. Large sums of money started showing up every month starting in 2009, and it turned out to be Shin Min-a," adding, "She asked us never to reveal her identity and requested that the funds be used for burn patients' treatment costs and low-income children."
Along with the message asking for the money to be used for burn patients' treatments and study room support for underprivileged children, the official said, "The amount she secretly donated over those 15 years exceeds 3.7 billion won. She is truly an angel."
However, the exact affiliation and precise source of the foundation official who made these remarks have not yet been confirmed.
The fact that Shin Min-a has maintained steady donations for a long time has already been reported on several occasions.
Shin Min-a has continuously made donations for vulnerable groups since 2009. In December 2025, ahead of her marriage, she and her husband Kim Woo-bin donated 300 million won to institutions such as the Hallym Burn Foundation, Asan Medical Center, and Good Friends.
It is reported that her cumulative donations known to date amount to approximately 4 billion won.
Regarding why she did not actively publicize her donations in the past, Shin Min-a shared her steadfast belief: "I used to think good deeds should be done in secret, but I came to realize that donations by influential people can lead others to participate. My hope is that even one person might have a good thought."
