It explains why so many Japanese people live in Brazil. People who live comfortably anywhere in the world do not migrate. In most cases, they left their hometowns and abandoned their motherland to move to foreign countries simply to make a living. Human history itself is like that.
The same goes for the Chinese descendants active across Southeast Asia. They are the descendants of people who left behind their starving or war-torn homelands carrying nothing more than a bundle. Because their survival was on the line, they had no choice but to live with a mindset of "die to live" wherever they went. Poverty sometimes fosters resilience in human beings.
