This year marks the 70th anniversary of their diplomatic relations, which officially began on February 2, 1955, with the signing of an agreement to establish diplomatic relations in Washington D.C., USA.

This historic agreement was signed by Argentina's Ambassador Hipólito Paz and Thailand's Ambassador Pote Sarasin, making Argentina the first South American nation to establish official diplomatic relations with Thailand.
