CHEONAN – The '2025 Peak Time Festival,' a nationwide youth festival, is set to take place on September 19 at the outdoor lawn of Cheonan Citizen's Sports Park. Co-hosted by Cheonan City and Chungcheongnam-do, the festival's theme is "Dreamland, Youth-topia," and it aims to celebrate the stories of young people pursuing their dreams through a variety of performances and programs.
The event is designed as a picnic-style festival, with free admission for all attendees, and no designated seating on the lawn. The lineup of performances is diverse, starting with a competition for university clubs, followed by creative traditional Korean music mixed with classical and jazz elements, a talk concert, and performances by renowned artists. The stage will feature popular singer Lee Juck, bands Zasbi and The Ade, girl group RE:SENE, and entertainers Uhm Ji-yoon and creator Ju Geung-jung.
More than 130 booths will be scattered throughout the festival grounds, offering a wide range of activities. These include mentorship sessions with current employees from major corporations, a youth press corps experience, and promotional booths for sponsors like the Cheonan Heungtaryeong Dance Festival 2025. A variety of food trucks will also be available for visitors.
Special programs are also planned to engage attendees. These include a "busking zone" for 2-on-2 matching games, a hands-on crime-solving game called "Crimescene," and the "Challenge! Peak Run" activity zone, all of which will include prize giveaways.
A new addition to this year's festival is the "Univ-Space Zone," where universities selected for the Regional Innovation-Centered University Support System (RISE) will showcase creative ideas for street design. This zone offers a unique opportunity to experience the innovative thinking of these institutions.
A city official stated, "We are preparing the 'Peak Time Festival' with safety as our top priority, so that young people who lead demanding lives can find healing and joy, and truly be the main characters of this event." The city has promoted the festival extensively through social media, posters in 465 apartment complexes, university bulletin boards, and bus stops.
