Regardless of the country in the world, a soldier is someone who has made a pact with the nation to lay down their life in times of emergency. That is why people in uniform deserve to be respected and honored. I once heard a story about how local residents in Yanggu used to act tyrannically, and how the division commander there made a resolute decision that changed the merchants' attitude. I didn't know his name back then, but I've come to know it this time. The military is a special organization. When a leader is admirable, subordinates can carry out any order well, no matter what it is. There are many graduates from the various military academies who have contributed greatly to the development of the Republic of Korea. History must record this. Although much has changed nowadays, in the past, only the absolute best talents in the country entered the military academies. They took charge of major national projects and contributed to national development. I understand that many legendary figures are still alive today. If I find the time, I would like to seek them out by field, interview them, and publish a book.
