CHEONAN — Proving that it is never too early to learn the joy of giving, five daycare centers in Cheonan recently came together to donate 1.1 million won to the Cheonan Welfare Foundation. The funds were raised through a community-focused family program, highlighting a heartwarming collaboration between local children, their fathers, and educators.
The participating institutions include Central City Daycare Center, Apple Kids Daycare Center, Atelier Daycare Center, Namusup Daycare Center, and Kidssup Daycare Center.
These centers previously took part in "Daddy's Play Lab," a specialized initiative organized by the Chungnam Childcare Information Center under the regional multi-value cooperation project. The program is designed to strengthen family bonds through interactive activities, including simulated market play that fosters emotional and physical connections between fathers and their children.
Rather than keeping the outcomes of these activities confined to the classroom, the participating families and faculty decided to channel their efforts into community support. By donating the project's proceeds, the children were given a hands-on lesson in philanthropy, experiencing firsthand how small acts of kindness can positively impact neighbors in need.
"Gathering the collective hearts of our children, families, and teachers to support our community has been a truly meaningful journey," representatives from the five daycare centers jointly noted. "We hope this experience teaches our young learners that sharing is an everyday value worth practicing throughout their lives."
The Cheonan Welfare Foundation praised the initiative, emphasizing its long-term social impact. "The generosity shown by these young children marks a precious first step toward them becoming future leaders of giving in our community," said Lee Nam-dong, Executive Director of the foundation. "We remain committed to building a sustainable culture of sharing that bridges generations and neighborhoods alike."
