Bucheon City held the ‘2025 Bucheon Content Enterprise Demoday’ at the Webtoon Convergence Center on the 8th. The event saw active exchange with over 60 attendees from a total of 44 companies and organizations.
This event was organized as part of Bucheon City’s ‘Bucheon Cultural Content Growth Support Platform’ project, aiming to foster practical business networking between excellent content companies, venture capital firms, distributors, and related organizations.
At this year's Demoday, nine selected companies gave Investor Relations (IR) presentations, showcasing diverse content intellectual properties (IPs) and business strategies in areas such as webtoons, animation, characters, and artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
Notably, the Demoday's transformation into an event that connects to distribution drew attention, with IR participation from selected works of the ‘2024 Bucheon International Animation Festival (BIAF)’ and the involvement of major distributors like Megabox Joongang, Plus M, and Next Entertainment as judges.
Following the IR presentations, 1:1 investment consultations with 11 investment firms and 3 major distributors, along with business cooperation exchanges between companies and organizations, took place in the consultation area on the 3rd floor. Follow-up meetings between promising companies and distribution partners are also scheduled, leading to concrete discussions on investment and distribution.
In addition, a total of 8 related and educational institutions, including Gyeonggi Content Agency, Korea Manhwa Contents Agency, Bucheon Industry Promotion Agency, Bucheon University, and Yuhan University, participated in observations and exchanges, strengthening the foundation for organic cooperation across Bucheon City's content industry ecosystem.
Yoo Sung-jun, Director-General of Bucheon City's Culture and Sports Bureau, stated, "The sustainability of the content industry depends on the connection structure beyond the creation stage." He added, "Moving forward, we will expand our local platform, which organically links planning, production, investment, and distribution, to actively support Bucheon content companies' entry into domestic and international markets."
