A new cultural hub, the K-Culture Lounge, has officially opened its doors in Seocho-dong, Seoul, to meet the surging demand for immersive, experience-centric Korean travel. Located on the first floor of Seocho Loium G-Zell, the facility is designed to serve as a comprehensive cultural and travel-support center for international visitors, moving beyond traditional lodging to offer deep engagement with Korean culture.
The venture is the brainchild of CEO Kim Jang-won, a seasoned tourism expert who spent over 20 years at the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO), planning global tourism content and working at international branches, including the Singapore and Istanbul offices. Recognizing the shift in tourist preference—driven by the global popularity of K-Pop and K-Dramas—from simple sightseeing to in-depth cultural participation, Kim established the lounge to fill a critical gap in the market. Areas like Seocho and Gangnam, which are densely populated with Airbnb accommodations, lacked dedicated spaces for foreign visitors to truly immerse themselves in Korean life.

The K-Culture Lounge is strategically positioned to be a central "hub" for foreign tourists, integrating essential travel services with unique cultural programs.

Transportation Support: Facilitating travel between Incheon/Gimpo Airport and Seocho.
Logistics: Secure luggage storage and a comfortable rest area for use before check-in or after check-out.

Crucially, these basic amenities are augmented by a robust schedule of hands-on cultural activities designed to promote 'Stay-Focused Tourism' (머무는 여행). These programs include:
Contemporary Culture: K-Pop DJ parties, learning sessions for Korean traditional and blended drinks (such as poktanju, or "bomb shots"), and experiencing Korean drinking games.

CEO Kim Jang-won stated that the K-Culture Lounge is more than just a place to stay; it is "a central hub where foreign visitors can comfortably enjoy Korean culture and travel programs." He expressed his aspiration for the lounge to be a place where guests share special experiences and act as ambassadors, "spreading the charm of Korea to the world through social media."
