K-Beauty and K-Food Startups Meet Local Customers in San Francisco

The Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in San Francisco (Consul General Lim Jeong-taek) announced its support for K-beauty and K-food startups that participated in a pop-up exhibition held at the Ferry Building, a well-known San Francisco landmark, on September 21 (local time).
This pop-up exhibition was an opportunity for 13 startups visiting Silicon Valley to participate in a consumer startup acceleration program organized by the Stanford University Innovation & Design Center. The event provided a chance for them to meet local customers directly, gauge their reactions, and assess marketing strategies and product improvements for their future entry into the U.S. market.
The participating startups included: Glow (beauty and skincare), Melted Mold (skincare), Donghaehyeongssi (premium pet food), Breezy Tail (animal skincare), Cheriexx (beauty and makeup), Sinsuru (skincare), Paper Pop (eco-friendly paper furniture), Sunnysideup (pet skin ointment), Esther Formula (skin-absorbing nutrients), Saib (eco-friendly cosmetics), Seedlab (lifestyle care), Readybloom (low-sugar protein snacks), and Rothea (anti-aging skincare).
Park Gyu-min, CEO of Readybloom, who participated in the pop-up exhibition, said, “This was a great opportunity to meet various U.S. customers directly ahead of our Amazon launch at the end of the year. We were able to confirm product reactions and even ask about how they consume protein products. Since we also secured visitors' email addresses, we plan to continue communicating and promoting to customers.”
More than 5,000 people visited the event, which featured about 50 participants, including 13 startups and Asian-American small business owners. The Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in San Francisco, along with the Korean Center, Inc. (KCI), set up a separate booth to promote Korean culture and provide various experiences to the local community by giving out K-Pop merchandise and more.
