Gyeongsangbuk-do hosted the '2026 National Association for Persons with Physical Disabilities Rehabilitation Federation Convention' for two days from September 3 to 4, organized by the Gyeongbuk Association of the Korea Association for Persons with Physical Disabilities (Chairman Lee Soo-hyung). Approximately 250 people attended, including officials from 17 city and provincial associations nationwide and the central headquarters.

Marking its 4th anniversary this year, this convention was designed for officials from rehabilitation associations nationwide to gather in one place to share disability policies and welfare pending issues, and to strengthen exchange and cooperation. It has established itself as an annual event to share experiences and best practices from local welfare fields for persons with disabilities.

This convention also kicked off with a policy special lecture themed 'Looking Closely at 2026 Disability Policies,' followed by lectures on major disability-related issues and presentations on future development directions. Participants shared best project cases from city and provincial associations nationwide, exchanged field experiences, and gathered their opinions for the advancement of welfare for persons with disabilities.

Hwang Myung-seok, Administrative Vice Governor of Gyeongsangbuk-do, stated, "This is a meaningful gathering where rehabilitation officials for persons with disabilities from all over the country come together to share their field experiences and wisdom," adding, "I hope this convention, marking its 4th year, will serve as a platform for exchange and solidarity where we can ponder welfare issues for persons with disabilities together and seek practical development measures."
