On the 14th, Cheonan City held the "Final Briefing on the Implementation Status of Assigned Duties for the 32nd Chungnam Para-Games" at the city hall's mid-sized conference room to thoroughly inspect the preparation status across all sectors.
The briefing was attended by Cheonan Mayor Jang Ki-soo and heads of departments with assigned duties, who verified key implementation details across overall tournament operations, including public relations, safety, sanitation, and medical support.
The 32nd Chungnam Para-Games will be held for three days from the 29th to the 31st at the Cheonan Stadium main stadium and sport-specific venues. A total of 20,000 participants are expected to compete across 22 events, consisting of 16 official events, 2 demonstration events, and 4 exhibition events.
Under the vision of "Dreams Unfolding in Cheonan, Chungnam Para-Games Created Together," Cheonan City has completed its preparations with the goals of hosting a barrier-free competition, a competition centered on athletes and citizens, and expanding the base of Para-sports.
To achieve this, Cheonan City is promoting four core differentiation strategies: operating city and county situation rooms, producing and distributing athlete guidebooks, supporting mobility convenience, and providing real-time Artificial Intelligence (AI) broadcasting for all events.
Independent situation rooms equipped with booths for each city and county will be operated at the welcome reception venue, the Cheonan City Indoor Tennis Court, to provide immediate on-site support for athletes and handle emergency situations. Additionally, a "Barrier-Free Guidebook"—produced through a field survey of local convenience facilities conducted in cooperation with the Cheonan City Sustainable Development Council—will be distributed to the athletic delegations.
Furthermore, the city will operate circular shuttle buses utilizing wheelchair-accessible vans from other cities and provinces' para-sports councils, and introduce real-time broadcasting using AI camera technology from preliminary matches to finals across all 18 events.
A joint situation room involving firefighting, police, and medical personnel, along with a real-time crowd monitoring system, will be operated. Private emergency transport vehicles will also be stationed at each venue to establish a rapid evacuation system.
Traffic guidance will be provided by the Cheonan Seobuk Good Driver Association, and priority dispatch will be given to disabled-accessible call taxis. A total of 1,308 volunteers and public officials will be deployed on-site. At the Oryunmun Plaza of the main stadium, a food zone, PR and experience booths, and a wheelchair and stroller rental service will be operated.
Cheonan Mayor Jang Ki-soo urged, "As the opening of the tournament approaches, please meticulously handle your respective positions until the very end so that athletes, families, and visitors alike can enjoy the games without any inconvenience, leaving no room for negligence in safety, convenience, or hospitality."
