Chungnam Province to hold "Culture Day" event at Yeongrangsa Temple in Dangjin on the 17th… Free admission for the first 200 people

Chungnam Province announced on the 7th that it will host the "2026 Naepo Cultural Trail Culture Day" event at Yeongrangsa Temple, located in Godae-myeon, Dangjin-si, on the 17th, welcoming up to 200 participants on a first-come, first-served basis.

Organized by the Naepo Cultural Trail Corporation, this event is designed for visitors to enjoy cultural performances, exhibitions, and promotional booths alongside the autumn forest at Yeongrangsa Temple, which marks the endpoint of the 8th course of the Naepo Buddhist Pilgrimage Trail.

Yeongrangsa is an ancient temple reportedly founded during the Baekje Dynasty, housing the Daeungjeon Hall and a bronze bell designated as provincial cultural heritage items.

The event will run from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM. Following the opening ceremony and an introduction to the temple by Chief Monk Sangjun, a series of performances will take place, featuring the acoustic mixed duo "Hae-reul-geurin," a balloon and magic performance, and the acoustic trio band "August Brothers."

Various on-site attractions will also be available, including an outdoor exhibition of winning entries from the 2nd Naepo Cultural Trail Photo Contest themed "The Four Seasons of the Naepo Buddhist Pilgrimage Trail," a mobile environmental campaign booth promoting carbon neutrality, and snack booths offering popcorn and cotton candy.

Registration is open from September 30 to October 14 on the official Naepo Cultural Trail website. Participation is free, with a cap of 200 people on a first-come, first-served basis, and registration will close early once full.

Additionally, outdoor air beanbags will be presented to the first 110 pre-registered participants to arrive at the venue.

"This event offers a unique opportunity to enjoy the rich history, culture, and performances embedded within a national forest path at an ancient temple colored with autumn hues," said Lee Yong-gil, Head of the province's Forest Policy Division. "We hope many residents and tourists will join us to experience a relaxing autumn break along the Naepo Cultural Trail."

Meanwhile, the Naepo Cultural Trail is a 320-kilometer national forest path connecting four cities and counties—Seosan, Dangjin, Hongseong, and Yesan—serving as a representative long-distance walking trail that links Chungnam's historical, cultural, and ecological resources.
