Hangzhou, China — Zeekr, the premium electric vehicle (EV) brand under China's Geely Auto Group, has officially established an ambitious sales target to sell 2,000 units of its electric SUV, the Zeekr 7X, in the South Korean market this year.
According to industry sources, Zeekr shared this strategic roadmap during a recent meeting at its global headquarters in Hangzhou, where representatives from South Korean dealership networks were invited to discuss market entry strategies.
The Zeekr 7X is currently entering the final stages of its domestic launch preparation. The vehicle is awaiting its official listing on the Ministry of Climate, Energy, and Environment's eco-friendly vehicle notification, which represents the last regulatory hurdle before commercial sales can commence in the country. Once launched, the 7X is expected to fiercely compete in the mid-size electric SUV segment against established rivals such as the Tesla Model Y, BYD Sealion 7, and Kia EV5.
Three Trims Tailored for Diverse Drivers
The Zeekr 7X will be available to South Korean consumers in three distinct trim levels: Standard, Long Range, and Performance. Each variant is engineered with specific battery and powertrain configurations to cater to different consumer preferences:
Standard (Entry-level): Equipped with a 75 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery, delivering a driving range of up to 391 km in urban conditions on a single charge.
Long Range: Features a larger 100 kWh ternary (NCM) battery, expanding the driving range to 453 km.
Performance (High-end): Also utilizes the 100 kWh ternary battery but optimizes output to achieve a range of up to 504 km alongside superior acceleration and handling.
Both the Long Range and Performance trims will feature a built-in smart connectivity service as a standard offering, with premium comfort packages available as optional upgrades.
To alleviate consumer skepticism regarding the post-purchase maintenance of Chinese electric vehicles, Zeekr Korea is introducing a highly competitive warranty package. The company will offer a 5-year/150,000 km general vehicle warranty, alongside an extensive 8-year/160,000 km warranty for high-voltage EV components, ensuring robust after-sales support.
Competitive Pricing Strategies
Zeekr Korea is currently locked in final negotiations with its global headquarters to lock down local pricing. While the final numbers are being fine-tuned, industry insiders project highly competitive starting prices to aggressively capture market share.
The estimated starting prices are expected to sit around:
Standard: 52.99 million KRW
Long Range: 59.99 million KRW
Performance: 69.99 million KRW
"We are in the process of finalizing the pricing structure for the three 7X trims," a Zeekr Korea official stated. "Our team is fully committed to delivering a product that rewards the expectations of South Korean consumers across all fronts—price, performance, and design."
