Samcheok City Achieves Early Goal of 242 Million Won for Hometown Love Donation System
Samcheok City Council (Chairman Kwon Jeong-bok) and Donghae City Council (Chairman Min Gwi-hoe) participated in "cross-donations," where members of both city councils voluntarily donated to each other's respective regions. This initiative aims to foster inter-regional win-win cooperation and vitalize the Hometown Love Donation System.
This cross-donation serves as an opportunity for both city councils to take the lead in promoting regional balanced development and the spread of a culture of sharing, which are the original intentions of the Hometown Love Donation System. They expressed their commitment to creating a exemplary case of cooperation and mutual growth between local governments.
Kwon Jeong-bok, Chairman of the Samcheok City Council, stated, "We hope that the voluntary participation of our council members will lead to the involvement of citizens, and we ask for continued interest and support to vitalize the Hometown Love Donation System."
Meanwhile, Samcheok City evaluated this cross-donation as a significant achievement that greatly contributed to exceeding the 2025 Hometown Love Donation System's target of 242 million won. For the remaining six months, the city plans to accelerate promotion of the system through various publicity booth operations, diversification of답례품 (thank-you gifts), and events to encourage participation.
Samcheok City stated, "The warm hearts of donors are a great strength for the development of Samcheok City," and added, "We will continue to promote transparent and meaningful fund projects to reciprocate these donations."
