The Chungcheongnam-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services announced on the 10th that it will host the '14th Chungcheong-do (Chungnam, Sejong, Daejeon) Rural Experience Festival' at the National Sejong Arboretum from the 21st to the 22nd.
This event, hosted by the Provincial Agricultural Research and Extension Services and organized by the Chungnam Rural Experience Association, will operate various experience programs with 74 rural experience farms from the Chungcheong region participating under the slogan "Today's Rest, Tomorrow's Rural!"
The event venue is composed of a total of five theme zones: △Family & Play Zone, △Nature & Emotion Zone, △Healing & Serenity Zone, △Tradition & Creation Zone, and △Sustainable & Future Zone.
Each theme zone offers diverse experiences that are difficult to access in urban areas, such as making traditional Korean paste (jang), handmade diffuser crafting, natural dyeing, and upcycling experiences.
Seo Dong-cheol, head of the Rural Resources Division, emphasized, "This year, to commemorate the 2025-2026 Visit Chungnam Year, we planned this as a representative event to promote our rural tourism resources nationwide and expand the base of urban-rural exchange. We will promote the value and charm of our rural areas through a hands-on agricultural festival where provincial and urban residents can come together."
Kim Seong-yeol, chairman of the Chungnam Rural Experience Association, said, "We hope that visitors will find healing and discover new possibilities in rural areas through the various programs directly prepared by the participating farms. We will continue to strive for Chungnam's rural experiences to become a sustainable tourism resource."
Meanwhile, the 13th event, held from June 1st to 2nd last year at Sapgyocheon Seawall Park in Dangjin, attracted over 11,000 visitors, with a satisfaction rate of 81.7% and an intention to revisit of 82.3% in the survey results.
