Recognizing the explosive popularity of snackable video content on mobile devices, the company has ramped up production of short-form dramas designed to capture new users worldwide.

Building on an initial collaboration with LG Uplus last year to produce short-form video adaptations streamed via Naver TV and Chzzk, the platform is now aggressively targeting Western markets. Webtoon Entertainment, Naver Webtoon's parent company, announced the release of live-action short-form drama adaptations based on hit romance webtoons. Each series consists of 40 to 50 episodes, running about one to two minutes per episode, and launched in English and French. To cement this pipeline, Webtoon Entertainment recently invested 100 million dollars to acquire a 60 percent controlling stake in South Korean game developer R-AI Games Holding. This acquisition brings specialized development studios like Grey Games and Offbeat under its corporate umbrella, which are actively developing new titles based on Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint and Overgeared.
